PCB Pushes for Champions Trophy to Be Held in Pakistan

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reiterated its stance that the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy should be hosted in Pakistan, highlighting that if other teams can participate in tournaments held in different regions, India should not have any objections to playing in Pakistan.

A PCB spokesperson stated that the board has officially communicated its position to the International Cricket Council (ICC), urging them to proceed with the plan of hosting the prestigious tournament in Pakistan. The board emphasized that Pakistan has successfully organized international cricket events in recent years and is fully capable of hosting the Champions Trophy.

Pakistan’s plea comes amid concerns raised by India over security issues and the potential political situation surrounding the tournament. However, the PCB is confident that the event will not only be a significant boost for cricket in Pakistan but will also provide an opportunity for fans to witness high-profile international cricket in their own country.

The PCB has pointed out that several countries, including those with security concerns, have hosted major ICC events in the past, and Pakistan’s cricket infrastructure is more than capable of handling such an event. The board remains hopeful that the ICC will act in the best interests of cricket and not let political or logistical challenges stand in the way of the game.

The ICC is expected to make a final decision on the venue for the 2025 Champions Trophy in the coming months, but the PCB’s push for Pakistan remains firm. The board is determined to showcase the country’s capabilities as a host and to give Pakistani cricket fans the chance to witness top-tier international matches on home soil.
