Humaira Asghar Ali, a 32-year-old Pakistani actress and model, was tragically found dead in her apartment located in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase-VI. Her body, discovered on July 8, was in an advanced state of decomposition, suggesting she may have died nearly two weeks prior to being found.
Authorities Enter Apartment After Landlord’s Complaint
According to local police reports, the apartment had been locked from the inside. Officers from Gizri Police Station entered the flat around 3:15 PM under court orders after the landlord filed for eviction due to several months of unpaid rent. With no response at the door, police forcibly entered and discovered her lifeless body inside.
DIG South, Syed Asad Raza, confirmed that the flat was located in the Ittehad Commercial area of DHA. The case was referred to the Crime Scene Unit, which collected forensic evidence, and the body was transferred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for further examination.
No Signs of Forced Entry or Foul Play
Initial police observations indicated that the apartment was securely locked, including the balcony, and showed no immediate signs of foul play. Dr. Summaiya Syed, police surgeon, confirmed the body’s condition as “highly decomposed.” The exact cause of death remains undetermined pending a detailed postmortem report.
Investigation Continues
Authorities have stated that Humaira had been living alone and had reportedly cut off contact with others in recent months. Her landlord, unable to reach her, pursued legal action to reclaim the property. Police are now reviewing her phone records to trace relatives or close contacts and to gather more information about her final days.
