Karachi Airport Tightens Visitor Entry Rules

Pakistan World

In response to growing security concerns, Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport is introducing new entry rules for visitors. Starting soon, individuals accompanying passengers to the airport will need to present a copy of the passenger’s airline ticket if requested by security personnel. This change follows a recent terrorist attack on Chinese nationals near the airport, which was facilitated from within the airport.

Visitors will be allowed a maximum of four companions per passenger, and those without a ticket copy will be denied entry. Additionally, people receiving passengers must also provide their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) for identification purposes alongside the ticket.

The implementation of these strict measures comes as part of increased efforts to bolster security following the attack. Authorities are continuing investigations into the incident, with recent developments confirming the arrest of multiple suspects, including a woman, linked to the bombing.
