Israel’s Military Escalates Attacks in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon Amid Possible Truce
Israel’s military has intensified its strikes across the region, killing 11 Palestinians in Gaza and two civilians in Syria, as reports indicate that the Israeli cabinet may approve a 60-day ceasefire with Hezbollah.
In Gaza, Israeli forces conducted three deadly airstrikes in the northern part of the enclave, adding to the growing humanitarian crisis. The ongoing violence coincides with severe weather conditions, including heavy rainfall and rising tides, which are destroying makeshift shelters for displaced individuals.
At the same time, Israeli forces launched an attack in Syria, killing two civilians in a strike on three bridges near the Lebanon border. Israel claimed the strike targeted Hezbollah’s alleged weapons smuggling routes.
Since the conflict began on October 7, 2023, the toll has been devastating. At least 44,235 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, and over 100,000 have been injured. In Israel, approximately 1,139 people were killed during the initial Hamas-led attacks, with more than 200 taken captive.
In Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes have resulted in at least 3,768 deaths and nearly 16,000 injuries as the war expands across borders. As calls for peace intensify, the approval of a potential truce with Hezbollah offers a glimmer of hope for temporary respite from the ongoing violence.
