Four Killed in Bannu Over Property Dispute

BANNU: A violent clash over a property dispute in Bannu city, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has resulted in the deaths of four individuals.

According to police officials, the incident took place in the Landhi Jalandhar area, where two groups exchanged gunfire, leading to the fatalities.

In a separate incident, five people were killed in Peshawar’s Chamkani area due to another property dispute between two rival groups.

Police reported that the deadly altercation was the result of a long-standing conflict between the two groups. An FIR has been registered, and authorities are investigating the matter.

It is noteworthy that such violent incidents, often fueled by personal grievances or land disputes, have been reported in the past.

Earlier, on Saturday, four people were shot dead and a woman was injured in a similar land dispute on Warsak Road in Peshawar. According to police and rescue sources, the victims were working in their fields when they encountered their rivals. Following a heated argument, both parties opened fire indiscriminately, resulting in the deaths of four men and injuries to the woman.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Peshawar’s headquarters hospital for post-mortem procedures, while the police cordoned off the area. The assailants managed to flee, and investigations are ongoing.
