Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has received praise for his quick thinking and kindness after helping an ill passenger on a flight to Lisbon on Monday.
Fernandes, fresh from his impressive performance in United’s 3-0 Premier League win over Leicester City, was en route to Portugal for the national team’s Nations League fixtures against Poland and Croatia.
According to Susanna Lawson, a fellow passenger, she heard a call for help shortly after Fernandes had gone to the back of the plane.
“Bruno was supporting a man who appeared to be losing consciousness,” Lawson recalled. “He helped him into a vacant seat and stayed with him, ensuring the passenger was alright.”
Portugal will face Poland at home on Friday, followed by a match against Croatia on November 18.
