Christmas Tragedy: Man Charged After Two Women Killed

A devastating incident unfolded on Christmas Day in Milton Keynes, as two women tragically lost their lives in a suspected stabbing at a block of flats.

Victims Identified, Community Mourns
Joanne Pearson, 38, and Teohna Grant, 24, were found dead at the scene on Santa Cruz Avenue in Bletchley at approximately 6:36 PM. A man in his late 20s and a teenage boy sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized. Both victims were residents of Milton Keynes, police confirmed.

The community has since paid tribute to the victims, with flowers and heartfelt messages placed near the site. Local resident Sophie Pritchard described the tragedy as “awful” and “something that shouldn’t be happening anywhere.”

Suspect Charged
Jazwell Brown, 49, also of Santa Cruz Avenue, has been charged with two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder, possession of a knife in a public place, and causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal. He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court.

Police and Community Response
Thames Valley Police confirmed that the injured man and teenage boy are now in stable condition. Additionally, a dog that was initially believed to have died survived the ordeal. Authorities continue to support the families of the victims during this difficult time.

Ed Hume, a local city councillor, highlighted the strength of the Newton Leys community, describing it as “close-knit” and expressing shared shock and sadness over the incident.

This tragedy has left Milton Keynes grieving during what should have been a joyful time of celebration.
