To become president, a candidate requires 270 electoral votes, and the 93 electoral votes from seven swing states played a decisive role in Trump’s victory. The swing states include Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
Media reports indicate that the positions of both parties were already clear in 43 out of 50 U.S. states. The U.S. has a total of 538 electoral colleges across its 50 states and D.C., with California leading with 54 electoral votes. Before the November 5 elections, 79 million voters had already cast their ballots, choosing representatives for the 435-member House of Representatives.
