China and Pakistan are set to conduct a joint anti-terrorism exercise after a five-year hiatus. According to China’s Ministry of Defence, the Western Theater Command of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) will send troops to Pakistan for the exercise, which will take place from late November to mid-December.

Named “Warrior-VIII,” the exercise will focus on joint counter-terrorism operations, including both cleanup and strike missions. The training will involve mixed-level, multi-specialty drills, with live troop exercises based on real combat scenarios, according to the Chinese ministry.

This exercise marks a significant step in strengthening military cooperation between the two countries.
