Cocaine Arrest

Brazilian Woman Arrested with Cocaine at Karachi Airport

Pakistan

In a successful operation at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) apprehended a Brazilian woman attempting to smuggle 1.396 kilograms of cocaine. The recovered narcotics have an estimated market value of Rs13.9 million.

The woman had arrived via a private airline and had concealed the cocaine in plastic bags to avoid detection. After thorough inspection, the ANF officials registered a case against the suspect under the Anti-Narcotics Act, initiating further legal proceedings.

This incident follows a similar attempt in October when a passenger at Peshawar airport, identified as Iqbal Hussain, was caught trying to smuggle 1.210 kilograms of ICE (crystal methamphetamine) concealed within luggage and sweets. Airport Security Force (ASF) personnel foiled the smuggling attempt and handed over the suspect along with 2.376 kilograms of drugs to the ANF for further action.

These operations highlight the vigilance of Pakistani authorities in curbing drug trafficking through airports.
