Pakistan achieved a historic milestone by completing a clean sweep against South Africa in their ODI series on Sunday. The third and final match, held at Wanderers Stadium in Sandton, saw Pakistan secure a 36-run victory.

Set to chase a formidable target of 309 runs in 47 overs, South Africa faltered, managing only 271 runs despite Heinrich Klaasen’s impressive knock of 81 off 43 balls. Other contributors included Corbin Bosch with 40, Rassie van der Dussen’s 35, and Marco Jansen’s 26.

Saim Ayub was the standout performer, earning both Player of the Match and Player of the Series honors. His exceptional century laid the foundation for Pakistan’s total. Captain Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam added solid half-centuries, while Salman Ali Agha’s quickfire 48 and Tayyab Tahir’s 28 bolstered the scoreboard beyond 300.

On the bowling front, Kagiso Rabada claimed 3 wickets for South Africa, with Marco Jansen and Bjorn Fortuin taking two each. Coen de Bruyn and Corbin Bosch also chipped in with a wicket apiece.

The rain-shortened match saw each side play 47 overs. South Africa’s captain elected to bowl first after a delayed toss. Pakistan introduced Tayyab Tahir, Mohammad Hasnain, and Sufiyan Muqeem into their lineup, resting Irfan Niazi, Haris Rauf, and Abrar Ahmed.

This remarkable series sweep marks a significant achievement for Pakistan on South African soil.
