India Crush Pakistan in T20 World Cup Clash as the Men in Blue delivered a commanding 61-run victory over their arch-rivals in a high-voltage encounter at Colombo, securing their place in the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup. Pakistan, meanwhile, must defeat Namibia in their final group match on February 18 to stay alive in the tournament.

Batting first, India posted a strong total of 175 for 7, thanks largely to a sensational knock by Ishan Kishan, who smashed 77 runs. His aggressive innings laid the foundation for India’s dominance, despite early setbacks. After the dismissal of opener Abhishek Sharma, Kishan took control, attacking Pakistan’s bowlers with confidence and precision. His innings included powerful strokes and clever placements, ensuring India built a competitive score.

Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Shivam Dube added valuable runs in the middle and death overs, keeping the scoreboard ticking. Pakistan’s bowling attack struggled for consistency, though Saim Ayub impressed with figures of 3 for 25, briefly slowing India’s momentum.

In reply, Pakistan suffered a disastrous start as their top order collapsed under relentless Indian bowling. Early wickets left them reeling, with Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya exploiting the conditions superbly. Pakistan lost four wickets within the powerplay, putting immense pressure on the middle order.

Usman Khan fought bravely with a well-made 44, attempting to stabilize the innings. However, a lack of support from the other batters led to a rapid collapse. India’s disciplined bowling attack, led by Bumrah, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakravarthy, ensured Pakistan were bundled out for just 114 in 18 overs.

The win continues India’s dominant record against Pakistan in World Cup tournaments and confirms their place in the next round. For Pakistan, the road ahead remains challenging, with qualification hinging on a must-win clash against Namibia.
