Pakistan’s top leadership has warmly congratulated the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on its decisive victory in Bangladesh’s parliamentary elections, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between the two neighboring nations.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Ishaq Dar extended heartfelt congratulations to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman for leading his party to a landmark electoral success. In a statement shared on social media platform X, Prime Minister Sharif praised the smooth and peaceful conduct of the elections and congratulated the people of Bangladesh on exercising their democratic right.

He expressed optimism about working closely with the new leadership in Dhaka to deepen cooperation and further enhance the historic, brotherly, and multifaceted ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh. The prime minister emphasized shared objectives of regional peace, stability, economic growth, and development across South Asia.

President Ishaq Dar echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the importance of collaboration in diplomacy, trade, and regional harmony. Both leaders reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to build a stronger, forward-looking partnership with Bangladesh under the newly elected government.
