Pakistan’s security forces have killed 34 Indian-sponsored terrorists during a series of high-intensity intelligence-based operations (IBOs) carried out across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan over the past few days, according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.
The military’s media wing confirmed that the operations specifically targeted Indian-backed militant groups Fitna al-Khwarij and Fitna al-Hindustan, aiming to dismantle their networks and prevent cross-border infiltration.
According to ISPR, 26 terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Khwarij were neutralised in four separate encounters across KP, while eight terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan were eliminated during an operation in Sambaza area of Zhob district, Balochistan.
In one incident, security forces intercepted a group of militants attempting to infiltrate Pakistan via the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Following precise and skilful engagement, one terrorist, later identified as an Afghan national, was killed.
Another intelligence-led operation in Lakki Marwat resulted in the elimination of three militants, while two separate engagements in Bannu’s Narmi Khel area led to the neutralisation of 10 terrorists. Additionally, 12 militants were killed in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, during a targeted operation.
ISPR stated that a large cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the slain terrorists, who were actively involved in numerous terror activities.
The statement reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully committed to safeguarding national security and will continue conducting sanitisation operations under the national counterterrorism campaign “Azm-e-Istehkam” to eradicate foreign-sponsored militancy from the country.
